The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh, organized a Poster Competition entitled “Practicing International Business” on August 31, 2026. The competition aimed to provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge of international business to real-world investment decisions. The main theme of the competition was “Why is this country suitable for investment?” Participating teams represented different countries and analyzed them based on economic strengths, business opportunities, infrastructure, market potential, technological capabilities, human resources, and other factors important to international investors.

Students presented their analyses through creative posters followed by oral presentations. The activity encouraged them to move beyond basic country descriptions and develop convincing arguments regarding why their selected country could be an attractive investment destination.

The competition helped students connect theoretical knowledge with practical international business situations. It also enhanced their skills in research, country analysis, critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, visual communication, public speaking, and persuasive presentation. The presentations further enabled students to compare the competitive advantages of different countries in the global investment environment. Following the evaluation, Team ‘Canada’ was declared the Champion, Team ‘Russia’ as the 1st Runner-up, and Team ‘South Korea’ as the 2nd Runner-up of the competition. The winning teams demonstrated strong analytical skills, clear investment-oriented arguments, effective presentation abilities, and a sound understanding of their respective countries’ competitive advantages.

Ms. Niyonta Islam, Lecturer, Department of Marketing, and Ms. Nowsheen Anjum Joya, Lecturer, Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management, FBA, evaluated the groups’ presentations. The evaluation criteria included the quality and relevance of the analysis, identification of investment opportunities, strength of the investment argument, poster creativity, presentation skills, teamwork, and the ability to respond to questions. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Professor and Head, Department of Marketing. Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker, Associate Professor; Ms. Anima Karmakar, Assistant Professor; and Ms. Tasnim Fatima Jahan, Lecturer, from the Department of Marketing, FBA, actively helped to organize, coordinate, and supervise the program. Distinguished guests attended the event, including Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, Faculty of Business Administration; Mr. Soumendra Sankar Das, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing; and Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing, and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA).
