As part of the SOHO Project, a specialized training session on Smart Accommodation was conducted in Bangladesh from 14 to 18 September 2026 by Dr. Vladimir Tanasiev, UPB, Romania, and Coordinator of the SOHO Project.

The training brought together more than 50 academicians from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and Jahangirnagar University (JU), providing an opportunity for participants to explore emerging concepts and technologies relevant to smart tourism and intelligent accommodation.

The training covered a range of key topics, including Smart Tourism as a general strategic approach, building automation, and major communication protocols used in smart buildings, including Modbus, M-Bus, KNX, DALI, and BACnet. The sessions also explored Internet of Things (IoT) applications in smart buildings, highlighting how connected technologies can contribute to more efficient, intelligent, and sustainable accommodation facilities.

The interactive sessions enabled academicians to gain practical insights into current technologies and their potential applications in tourism, hospitality, and smart building environments. The exchange of knowledge and experiences also contributed to strengthening academic collaboration and supporting the objectives of the SOHO Project.

The training reflects the project's continued commitment to capacity building, knowledge transfer, and the development of smart and sustainable tourism education in Bangladesh.
